PirateBox Vacation
Heading out on an urban adventure, what to pack..what to pack. Yep, my little ol battery powered Pirate Box set up, Stuffed inside a TP-Link MR3020, sporting a 16 gb usb stick packed with goodies and powered (when mobile) with rechargeables this little gizmo will serve two purposes.Â
First, 16 gb of storage for stuff the boys and I might want to read, watch or listen to on our travels. We each have our devices but as always you never know what you might need on the road. Extra installments of Tom Baker era Dr Who? Back episodes of In Our Times? Most of Project Gutenberg? Ya never know. (note bene…only the PD or CC stuff will go up on the public share directory) . I like to think of it as our own little cloud without hosting hassles or usage costs.
Second, the opportunity to continue to extend the old maxim of "the net provides" outside of what folks now assume is "the net(tm)(c)(r)". Also an opportunity to gather some (anoned)  data on use of such a thing.Â
Awhile back I moded my install of PirateBox to be re branded A Community Share Node…I of all folks have nothing against the term Pirate but I am not all potential users….Rather folks  Share openly then get hung up on a term.Â
It has been a while (6 months or so) since I upgraded the device, my question is what if anything as been added/upgraded? I have heard of 6.0 but can not find an ipk or changelog of it on the usual places. Anyone have the  411 on such a  thing?
