40 megabytes per square inch is a good start but it really needs to get more density down the dev road. "Forever" is  a term that should not be used in tech discussions. 
Hitachi has printed data upon a 2 square centimeter piece of glass that is waterproof, fireproof, and capable of securing any kind of data well into the future.
