Ok Minecraft users, especially users of the Pocket Edition , listen to this…. So for shiz and gigs I just tried out the Android version of Minetest listed on the official download page (http://www.minetest.net/download). Once loaded I saw you can connect to public servers. Well heck I just started a homestead on the Liberty Server…so I connected thinking I would get a parsed down view only experience.

Nope. Full on. The GUI is a little clunky but I was able to do nearly everything I was doing on the Linux Desktop client. Mods and all.

A bity buggy? Somewhat. But very very playable,  head and shoulders over the experience you can get on Minecraft PE. You are playing the same game on the same servers, with PE you are playing a scaled down version on separate servers.

Amazing work and perhaps one of the top 5 selling points of the whole Minetest experience.

(My biggest complaint…the chat box and the gui in general. then again that is my same top peeve about the desktop version as well…so even in that they are the same experience:)- . ) #minetest   #minecraft   #foss

Have a look at the Getting started page in the wiki. If you have problems, read the frequently asked questions topic. From zip: Extract the zip package somewhere (be sure that you have write access – don’t extract it in “Program Files”). Run the executable found in the bin/ folder.
