I want to give a hearty FUCK YOU to Hair Of The Dog Brewery and Tasting Room.
For years now you have made buying your beer a pain in the ass…but it is truly amazing beer so I suffered through waiting on long lines at your yearly dock sales and special ordering the rare releases. I thought, mistakenly, that with an official and regularly open tasting room/store front you would have your great beers for sale. I walked in with mad cash money to buy a stash of your beers for our moving to Denver but instead walked out of your shop frustrated and brewless.
Your staff could not sell me the beer I wanted either in bottles or in growlers and the ones you did have bottled that i wanted to purchases you would not sell me because they are for consumption in the tasting room only. What in the blue blazes!?!? That there is a great way to build brand loyalty and make money…. do not let your customer buy your product.
Over the years you have proven that you are not really interested in your customers, that you would rather build beers for your own tasting and for review purposes. If that is your goals then congratulations, you are doing a great job. If your idea was to make great beer for people to drink….yeah…not so much. It is a choice of you being limited by design or atrociously inept at sales.
Hats off to you and your biz model and I think it is long past the time to say Fuck Off to you and your beers. I love them, I think they are some of the best beer I have ever tasted, I might even find places to buy them on occasion…but for the most part you have lost a customer with your shitty sales methods.
