Controlling education is how the Theocrats stay in power. In some theocracies they shoot young girls for asking to be properly educated, in the American theocracy they use textbooks and the classroom to indoctrinate the young into the hazy shade of stupunderment. The best cure for this is to raise as many skeptical thinkers as possible. A side bar here for yet another reason why Texas is on the short list for states to jettison in order to form a more perfect union.

The election season is a great chance to teach the younglings about how the country really works, or as really real as I can figure to tell it so that it still makes a sort of sense. At the very least they can learn why we are not a direct popular democracy but rather a representative one….and yeah that big D democracy thing…yeah not so much….Since we listen to The History Of Rome podcast from time to time it is fun to have them compare what we have with the various forms Rome used in its time . Back to the point of this link….here is a nice summation of the possibility of a tie in our current system.
