So now that his church has, once again, delved into politics….. when does it's tax exempt status get yanked? Hello……hello…….

Bishop David Ricken of the Catholic Diocese in Green Bay, WI went for the hard sell in a letter to his Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Here’s an excerpt: I would like to review some of the principles …
Education fun part two. Yesterday I created 26 student and 1 teacher accounts on Khan Academy. Today 24 kids listened as I gave them a fifteen minute run down on login procedures, basic Internet saftey and where to start.. then they were turned loose. Kids who spend a half hour or more doing a dozen or so math problems averaged 80 problems in about the same time. Metrics on who was struggling with what topic and who was trying out new things were available to the teacher in real time. She was able to work with the kids who needed the help as they needed it. Breathtakingly stunning example of how kids will excel when shown how to use the tools. We have the computer lab booked for a bunch of Fridays.
This morning I get to stand in for POTUS as another parent and myself put on a debate for the second graders. They will be casting votes next Tuesday along with the rest of the country who have not already voted. Trivial as the task sounds I have been prepping and freting the event, I have serious issues with POTUS but want the kids to get better a debate experience then perhaps we were given. I do not so much want to sway them to one party or the other but make them aware the issues are important to them and that unless they become passionate about how they are governed they will be governed badly. Am I going to bring up Big Bird though? Oh you betcha.
Today we learn about the Election process.
Cool, an unannounced minepisode of Newsroom…and with out the crappy love triangle stuff.
