My kids introduced me to this set of Android apps yesterday. Think Scratch for Android, something I had always wished Scratch had done. The group doing Pocket Code seem well and truly dedicated to bringing the ideas of FOSS to the young. Hot damn that is cool. Cooler still, it was my kids introducing it to me, rather than the other way around, that makes me so darned happy. There is talk of a codeoff this weekend.

Meanwhile here in the US we are still using units of  measurement based on old historic terms for strictly ideological reasons…. but under it all are using the metric system for the official definition.Â
