Minetested  The Series – Because the kids finally found something they are really excited making videos about….and yeah  I am in for the ride as well. A few days of Minetest and diggey diggey holing is exciting again.  At least with Minetest I do not dread them getting into modding, the Lua API seems  easy enough to get into.   #minetest

If physical injury is part of the game at the high school levels then what would you expect it to be in the professional levels?  Do fans who are wiling to send their kids off to these levels of physical harm in the name of the game  really expect  those raised and trained in the game to be  untouched by the physicality and harm that is integral to the game?

Is it out of  the bounds of reason to think that someone who causes physical harm as part of their job/hobby would  have spill over in the rest of their lives?

Supporters of football seem to want their  trained gladiators to morph into Beave's dad  magically once leaving the playing field or to walk off unharmed by the basic physical demands of the game.

Data seems to show that the results of play are damage and harm not only to the players but to some around them.

The disconnect between expectations and reality  seem at best avoidable but more often just more  examples  for lowered standards.

High school football players are nearly twice as likely as college players to suffer a concussion either in a game or at practice, according to a new study funded by the NFL.

My kids have gotten me to watch a bunch of Gaijin Goomba's videos.  (https://www.youtube.com/user/GaijinGoomba)  Surprisingly they are really good. The Culture Shock ones more so than the rest. This particular one though…. It reminds me of what W. Gibsons Chiba city mythos would be like if mashed into YouTube Gamer culture and then  aimed at the type of preteens who will most likely pick up Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminati tomes in the  next 4 or 5 years. Which is to say, disturbing but you can not look away.
