NetMBuddy – YouTube For Your Ears
Sometimes YouTube is video, sometime it is music, sometimes it is spoken words. The problem with the official YouTube player app is that it treats  everything as video and as such your screen is in an always on state while playing content. For when you do not need to see your content… NetMBuddy. You tell it what YouTube  item or playlist you want to  listen to and it  plays it  in the background so you can be doing something else , or nothing, on your screen. You can find it on FDroid or on Googlezons Play Store.  FreeBSD licensed, source code on Github. What's not to love?
